How to Play Squeezy

Squeezy is a free daily word game from Jeff Chen and Jim Horne. Every puzzle gives you a handful of yellow letter tiles and a stack of words with open spaces inside them — squeeze each tile into a word to make a brand-new word. When you’re done, the inserted letters spell a secret theme. If you love Wordle or Connections, there’s a fresh Squeezy puzzle to play online every day.

Insert tiles to make new words

Click a yellow tile, then click a green space to insert it. Every insertion must leave a real word behind — tiles always go inside a word, never on the ends. Here, Y turns SPAS into SPAYS, E turns GUST into GUEST, and S will turn WAIT into WAIST:

The tiles spell a hidden theme

Read top to bottom, the letters you inserted spell out a secret word, phrase, or name — here Y, E, and S spell YES. Every puzzle is handmade so that each tile completes both its word and the theme. Spotting the theme early is the key to cracking the trickiest words.

Easy Squeezy vs. Main Squeezy

Easy Squeezy is a single quick round — perfect for a coffee-break solve. Main Squeezy is the full challenge: three rounds (easy, peasy, and squeezy) that get tougher as you go.

Breezy Mode vs. Wheezy Mode

In Breezy Mode you get exactly the tiles you need — one for each open space. Wheezy Mode deviously adds one extra tile that doesn’t get used, so you can’t just squeeze in whatever’s left over.

Solve a round with no help for a perfect 😎 🍋 result. Stuck? Reveal One 😖 places a tile for you and Check All 🤔 flags your mistakes — every use shows up in your shareable results, and leaning on them turns a round’s score from green 🟩 to gray ⬜.
